Reaper (リーパー/Rīpā), or Jō Unmei (上運命) as it's properly called, is a Superior Element. Its color palette consists of mainly black with some mostly very dark purples and magentas. Its medal depicts a scythe.
Reaper is an Element designed to bring a sudden, quick death to any adversary. Like its fusee, it blends slow speed with fast speed in a deadly manner, along with having incredible damage output to boot.
This Element can be obtained by fusing Darkness (500 D) and Nightmare (1200 D), costing an additional 450 Diamonds to fuse (It costed 50 Diamonds in the old version). In order to unlock, the player must defeat Malmonger on the Abyssal Bridge in Book 4 Chapter 3. They must then have at least 500 enemy players kills in multiplayer, and kill 150 enemies in any Survival Mode map.
Summary[]
Reaper somewhat follows the path of its fusees in terms of being a fast and deadly offensive beast; however, it does so in its own unique way. It is loaded with lots of unusual spells that can come to interest to any advanced player. With a great ambush tool, a way to trap enemies, and an Ultimate spell that hits like a truck, this lethal Element has every trick in the book to fight dirty. The very first spell learned, Soul Harvest, is the star attraction; If you manage to land it, you can kill an enemy instantly and gain a boost lasting up until the next time you die or leave. It's risky, but very well worth it. While fighting proper, remember that this Element is still a punisher, so expect a few spells to be slow and easily avoidable at first. If you can, play like a Reaper enemy and strike when your target least expects it; that'll give you all the advantage you need to finish the job quickly. If you have a scythe or sickle weapon equipped, the shadowy scythes most spells summoned will be replaced by it, and any effects the equipped weapon has upon hit will be applied by the spell, so if you plan to make the most out of it, bring a scythe of your own with you.

Lore[]
Jō Unmei, possibly one of the darkest of all magic known in the world of Roblox, is a specially modified evolution of Jō Hametsu. Its creation can stem from a few different things: It could be the birth of the Grim Lord Kyek and his offspring that naturally gave birth to the Element due the need to twist Jō Hametsu’s properties involved in his creation, or it could’ve been put together by King Malmonger himself empower his forces, and was given to Kyek as his trademark. Either way, every encounter with this magic is deadly and terrifying. What makes it stand out from other forms of black magic is its affinity for control over life and death itself. With the swipe of the user’s hand, the shadowy blade of Kyek himself appears and all before it drops to the ground a corpse. No mortal creature is safe from such deadly power. In fact, even the Time Lords were terrified of it, yet they still refused to allow anyone into the Time Zone to stop the reapers from invading. Its value is such that only the greatest of Malmonger’s elite– and those under Kyek’s heritage– are permitted to train this Element, and that we should consider fortunate; if it were more widespread in the Dark Order and its cult, there wouldn’t be much we could do about them.
As malign and forbidden as Jō Unmei is, it is not theoretically impossible to use it for good, as with most Elements. Sure, you’d scare everyone around you the moment you pulled it out, but no matter what power you own, you should always point it in the direction you wish to travel in. Of course, that doesn’t mean gaining access to this magic is easy. First, you must make a nightmare (Having Jō Hametsu can make that easier) stand still for you, imbue it with shadowy magic (Such as Shuyō no Yūutsu), and slice the thing in half with a scythe— and a scythe only. Then, make sure you have 450 diamonds to offer to what the nightmare becomes; that’s what ultimately decides the difference between death or new power. Feel free to plow through whatever monsters dare block your path as long as you have enough knowledge and skill; even nightmares will not bother with you. In fact, reapers are known for being able to survive in the Void, so that doesn’t pose as big of a threat either. However, stay clear of light sources or phoenixes– Reapers, including their magic, are as scared of magical light as regular nightmares and don’t really stand much of a chance against immortal beings. Lastly, especially beware of angels, as they have long plotted the absolute eradication of Jō Unmei and its ancestor.
Spells[]
Zone | Response |
---|---|
Spell 1 | Soul Harvest (ソウルハーベスト/Souruhābesuto) |
Spell Type | Projectile |
Spell Description | "Claim a victim's soul with a swing of a shadowy reaper's scythe, which will grant you a life-long power increase" |
Spell Info | The caster levitates a little into the air and slowly summons a dark reaper’s scythe from shadowy energy before charging up a swing in front of them. This animation lasts for roughly 5.5 seconds before the caster unleashes a fast traveling slash of dark energy that can travel for a mild distance. If an enemy is hit by this slash, the victim is killed instantly and the caster steals their soul (Ignores body transformations, equipment effects and defense), healing themselves for about 400 health and replenishing all their mana and stamina. As well, upon stealing one soul, the caster gains a dark purple aura, and their stats are increased by 30% until death, on which the buff is lost. Any further souls stolen will not increase the buff. Take note that bosses, minibosses, dummies and certain Elemental monsters will never be killed immediately upon being hit by this spell, and will take 600-650 damage instead. It will still heal the caster and replenish their mana/stamina, but they will not be buffed either.
|
Spell 2 | Scythe Whirlwind (サイスホワールウインド/Saisuhowāruu~indo) |
Spell Type | Transportation |
Spell Description | "Perform a spinning scythe slash that moves you to another location, striking terror and agony into anyone in your path" |
Spell Info | The caster summons a scythe of dark violet energy (Or any scythe weapon they have equipped) and charges for a second before spinning with their weapon in a whirlwind attack while moving quickly in any direction they were aiming for a semi-long distance or until they hit a wall. The attack ends once the caster reaches their destination, in which they will stop spinning before taking a second to make the scythe disappear (Only if they didn’t use an equipped scythe weapon). Any enemy the caster strikes during the attack will be dealt 375 damage, knocked down with a 1.5 second trip (2 seconds if they are below 50% health), and applied a dark fog effect for 3.5 seconds. Foes at the caster’s destination will be dealt 500 damage (Or killed instantly if they were at 15% health or less), knocked a short distance away with a similar trip, and applied a similar fog effect.
|
Spell 3 | Sudden Death (サドンデス/Sadondesu) |
Spell Type | Contact |
Spell Description | "Assault a target with a blinding teleportation slash with a scythe" |
Spell Info | The caster summons a similar scythe to Scythe Whirlwind (Or any scythe weapon they have equipped), and jumps off the ground, moving a couple studs forward as they perform a large overhead slash just 3 quarters of a second after clicking; if they are locked onto a target, they will teleport straight in front of them if they are within at least 100 studs of the foe. If a successful hit, the slash deals 375 damage, knocks the victim a good distance away with a 3 second trip, and blinds them for 2 seconds; the blow also breaks through guard and shields.
|
Spell 4 | Sorrow Circle (ソローサークル/Sorōsākuru) |
Spell Type | AoE |
Spell Description | "Entrap all in a select area in a separate realm where they are subject to the sensation of death" |
Spell Info | The caster raises a shadow-encased hand up and creates a 30-stud circle of dramatically darkened, violet tinted ground, surrounded by a boundary of dark energy and four spinning dark scythes, which acts like a solid wall. Any enemies who are in the circle when it activates (Within the 0.75 second time window they have to escape) cannot leave until it disappears, and will take 35 damage over time while also becoming invisible to other players and having their screens tinted dark violet. The circle disappears after 5 seconds, leaving trapped victims free and visible again.
|
Spell 5 | Somber Face of Fate (ソンバーフェースオブフェイト/Sonbāfēsuobufeito) |
Spell Type | Ultimate |
Spell Description | "Imbue yourself with the true power of a reaper and launch a terrifying attack on the victim of your choosing" |
Spell Info | The caster shrouds themselves in darkness while arming their scythe (If they don’t have a scythe weapon equipped, they will instead summon a giant scythe of shadows) with an unsettling noise before, after a second, teleporting directly in front of the nearest enemy within a 70-stud radius and attempts to hit them with a fast horizontal slash. If a successful hit, the victim is dealt 150 damage and will be paralyzed in fear before the caster, who makes another disturbing sound while preparing a second strike for 3 seconds as the victim’s screen fades to black until they are blind; by then, the caster delivers a brutal downward diagonal strike to the victim with an insane, demonic laugh, dealing 1750 damage and slowly knocking the target over while creating a giant, yet stationary slash of violet energy as the caster’s screen, as well as those of any players within the 70-stud radius, turns black, then all affected screens fade back to normal. As the slash disappears after 4.5 seconds, the enemy falls to the ground with a 1.5 second trip while the caster remains stuck in their post-strike pose for another 2 seconds before they can move again. If the target was at less than 30% health before the second strike, they will be killed instantly and reduced to a black skeleton, which then proceeds to dissolve into dust.

Death (デス/Desu) is one of Reaper's Subelements. Its color palette consists of mostly black with some very dark purple. Its medal would depict a skull.
Zone | Response |
---|---|
Spell 1 | Looming Death (ルームイングデス/Rūmuingudesu) |
Spell Type | AoE |
Spell Description | "Invoke the shadow of death itself while raising a scythe to unleash a deathly strike in front of you" |
Spell Info | The caster locks in place (They can still turn and change directions), summons a large shadow scythe (Or keeps the scythe they’re holding if they have one equipped), and raises up vertically for a second. During which, a large, shadowy entity with red-glowing eyes appears above them and casts a long shadow in front of them where they are looking, stretching for about 50 studs and being roughly 20 studs in width, which locks onto the first enemy that gets caught in it. After the charging phase is complete, the caster slams the scythe down and makes bursts of dark energy erupt from the shadow, dealing 165 damage and stunning enemies for a second, which are followed a split second later by tall columns of rising darkness which deal an additional 200 damage.
|
Spell 2 | Fatal Destruction (フェータルデサレーション/Fētarudesarēshon) |
Spell Type | Contact |
Spell Description | "Grasp an enemy right by where the soul is located and painfully drain their vitality" |
Spell Info | The caster dashes a very short distance with their hand stretched out, leaving a trail of darkness behind. If they manage to hit a compatible enemy, they will grab the victim by the chest and lift them up off the ground, gradually draining their life energy for a maximum of 10 seconds or until they are hit by another enemy’s attack, making a spine-chilling noise for those the entire duration before throwing them away with a 1 second trip. This deals 20 damage to the foe over time and heals the caster by 7 points over time. The enemy also experiences a greatly darkened, monochrome screen filter for the duration. If the enemy dies during the attack, the caster steals their soul (Same mechanic as Soul Harvest) and reduces the enemy to a black skeleton. While the spell is active, the caster can slowly walk around.
|
Spell 3 | Inevitable Doom (インイビットブル・ドゥーム/In'ibittoburu Do~ūmu) |
Spell Type | Projectile |
Spell Description | "Throw a dark scythe that will fly wherever you command it to, granting a taste of death to those it cuts" |
Spell Info | The caster summons a dark scythe that begins to grow larger until the blade is at least twice their height after a second, then throws the scythe as a spinning projectile that follows where they are targeting, shattering upon impact with a solid surface. Enemies hit by the scythe will receive 350 damage and fall to the ground with a 2 second trip (Extends to 5 seconds if they are below 15% health). If the caster has a soul (From successfully using Soul Harvest or killing an enemy with Fatal Destruction), they will imbue the scythe with it, causing it grow even bigger and explode upon impact instead of shattering, as well as dealing 150 more damage; this will cause the caster to lose the soul and the effects it grants.
|
Purgatory (パーガトリー/Pāgatorī) is Reaper's other Subelement. Its color palette consists of mainly black, white and light grey, with some very dark purple. Its medal would depict a flame with a screaming face visible in it.
Zone | Response |
---|---|
Spell 1 | Reaper's Mark (リーパーズ・マーク/Rīpāzu Māku) |
Spell Type | AoE |
Spell Description | "Call down the Sword of Damnation to mark an area, striking every adversary in the marked area" |
Spell Info | The caster raises their fist (Or whatever weapon they have equipped) into the air as it becomes shrouded with shadowy energy, then a giant shadow sword falls from a portal in the sky where their target is (It has a limited range), dealing 350 damage to any enemy that is hit by it. Half a second after this, all enemies within 60 studs of the sword will be struck by undodgeable bolts of dark lightning and dealt 50 damage before the sword disappears. The sword usually falls about three fourths of a second after the initial click/key press, but holding it allows the caster to delay the strike for up to 1.5 seconds.
|
Spell 2 | Underworld Manifest (アンダーワールドマニフェスト/Andāwārudomanifesuto) |
Spell Type | Transportation |
Spell Description | "Travel through the realm of souls and reappear at your destination with a slashing attack" |
Spell Info | The caster transforms almost completely invisible with a faint white outline and begins levitating off the ground, moving constantly at considerable speed in whichever direction they’re targeting for 1 second. Upon reappearing, three shadow scythes appear around the caster and briefly spin around them, slashing enemies next to them for 270 damage and freezing them in fear for 0.75 seconds. Holding their click allows them to increase the duration of the move for up to 3 seconds. The caster is invincible during this spell.
|
Spell 3 | Limbonian Mausoleum (リンボニアンマウソリーム/Rinbonianmausorīmu) |
Spell Type | Healing |
Spell Description | "Create a gap between the realm of souls and the mortal plane and convert all damage you receive inside into healing" |
Spell Info | The caster raises their hand (Or weapon) up and creates an 80-stud diameter invisible dome around themself that cannot be seen from the outside, nor can anyone inside it be. It is filled with white fog and causes all attacks and spells from enemies trapped inside to heal the caster and any teammates/party members caught within for 25% of the damage they normally deal. After 7 seconds, the dome disappears and everyone inside is released.
